Late night epiphany:
In the show Community, when Evil Abed returns in the last episode to try and ruin the study group, he enters only because Troy left, causing Abed to feel anxious. Evil Abed clearly states that he wants to bring about the effects of the “worst timeline”, in relation to episode 4 when Abed and Troy held a housewarming party. The worst timeline of the episode, the one where Pierce dies and Jeff loses his arm, begins because Troy left to get the pizza. In Abed’s mind, Troy leaving the group is the most traumatic, therefore he associates the worst outcome in his life with Troy’s absence. Episode 4 was foreshadowing for Troy’s enrollment in AC school and Abed’s inability to deal with losing him.
This is why I love Community. It is so well written and the characters have amazing depth.
